Princess Activities at Walt Disney World

A princess-lovers dream

It is no surprise that Disney Princesses still reign supreme among kids’ favorite characters. That is why I’ve come up with Perfectly Princess Activities at Walt Disney World to serve as your guide to decide where to go and what to do with your perfect little princess (or prince) on your next Disney vacation.

First, you must look the part!

I highly recommend making (or having your Disney Travel Agent in KC make) advanced reservations for your kiddos at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. There are usually three locations available - however, only the one in Magic Kingdom has re-opened since the pandemic closures..

One at Disney Springs, which is nice to do on a day you don’t plan on visiting the parks as it does not require paid tickets for entry to Disney Springs.

Some people prefer the magic of getting the princess makeover IN Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Park. If you time this right, you can have your makeover, then dine with Cinderella and her royal friends in the Castle too! (Read more on this later in this post.)

Last but not least is the newly opened location in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This resort is so beautiful and will definitely make you and your little one feel regal. It is conveniently located on the monorail, so even if you’re not staying at this resort, it isn’t difficult to get there from Magic Kingdom Park.

Packages start at $99.95 and can include a variety of things from hair and make-up, nail polish, pixie dust (glitter), and with some of the packages you can also purchase a new princess gown. If you have a box full of princess dresses from Halloween or dress-up, you can pack those on your vacation and wear them to your appointment.

There is also a mermaid makeover in Magic Kingdom Park in the Pirates League, if an “under the sea” princess is more your style! *Edit: Disney announced that Pirates League will be closing July 27, 2020.

What may be one of the most unique princess activities at Walt Disney World is the Perfectly Princess Tea Party at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. With the new location of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique you can time your trip to “The Grand” and have your princess makeover and be done in time for tea! *Edit: This has not yet re-opened since the pandemic closure. Stay tuned for when reservations resume.

At the Perfectly Princess Tea Party, young princesses (and princes) are regaled with music, dancing, storytelling, and more at this unforgettable courtly tea. Sleeping Beauty makes an appearance and each young partygoer (ages 3 to 9) receives exciting gifts as keepsakes of this storybook morning. An adult is able to attend with the child attending (hello adorable photo ops!)

Probably the most popular Princess activity at Walt Disney World is the character dining experiences. Character dining is a great option to avoid waiting in lines as the characters come right around to your table to interact, take photos, and sign your autograph books. Here are a few of my recommendations:

  • Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast at Boardwalk Inn — I personally love this one! I’m a big Tangled fan, and was so excited about some of the cute things they incorporated with this experience. Meet Rapunzel, Flynn, Ariel, and Prince Eric for a delicious breakfast at Trattoria al Forno. (And yes, the breakfast pastries were served in Rapunzel’s iconic frying pan!)
*Edit: While Trattoria al Forno is open and serving breakfast, characters have not yet returned to this location since the pandemic closure.

  • Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom — Being in Cinderella Castle this one is a popular one! The atmosphere adds to the whole regal experience. Due to its popularity it is important to note that this is one of the few locations that requires advance payment in full with a reservation.

  • Akershus Royal Dining at EPCOT — This is a great alternative when Cinderella’s Royal Table is completely booked! It has great food, princesses, and is open for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Meet Anna and Elsa nearby in the Sommerhaus, then attend dinner with some of your favorite classic princesses.
*Edit: This location is still closed since the pandemic and is rumored to be getting a reimagined look and feel. Stay tuned as we get more information.

  • Storybook Dining at Wilderness Lodge — A new addition to the princess dining options at Walt Disney World, but quickly becoming a fan favorite! Meet Snow White, Grump and Dopey while you dine in a setting that feels like it was set in a storybook. This one is important to reserve early as it is currently only available for dinner (4pm-9pm.)

We dined here in August 2022 and the food was delicious! Everyone at the table receives the appetizers and desserts, but you can order your individual entree — all for one flat fee. Our presence was even requested by the Queen!

  • Be Our Guest — Another great one in Magic Kingdom Park for the atmosphere. It actually looks and feels like you’re in the ballroom from the Beauty and the Beast movie! There is an option to go to the forbidden West Wing to see the enchanted Rose. This is another good one I recommend for my guests that maybe don’t want Cinderella’s Royal Table, but another princess-themed dining experience at Walt Disney World.

We can’t forget about princess themed attractions, character meetings, & entertainment!

  • EPCOT:

    • Frozen Ever After (Norway) - Take a boat ride adventure through Arendelle and relive the story and magic from the favorite Disney Animation film, Frozen.

    • Next door to Frozen Ever After, you can meet Elsa & Anna and browse Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post.

    • Meet Belle (France) - The unique thing about this one, is instead of wearing her traditional golden ball gown, she is dressed in her blue and white “provincial life” dress. I’m sure she would love to chat about your favorite books!

      • Recently added in France is the new Beauty & The Beast Sing-a-Long!

    • Meet Mulan (China)

    • Meet Jasmine (Morocco)

    • Meet Snow White (Germany) — If your vacation falls during EPCOT’s Flower & Garden show in the spring, the 7 Dwarfs might also make it into the photo, but as topiaries!

  • Magic Kingdom:

    • Enchanted Tales with Belle — this is a guest favorite! It is a very interactive, storytelling experience with Belle. (Temporarily unavailable)

    • Flying Carpets of Aladdin and nearby you can meet Aladdin and Jasmine

    • Prince Charming’s Carousel

    • Under the Sea - The Little Mermaid — Climb aboard a clam shell and dive under the sea to relive the story of The Little Mermaid. Then meet Ariel in her Grotto!

    • Meet Merida from Brave

    • Princess Fairytale Hall is where you can meet Rapunzel & Tiana and Cinderella & Elena of Avalor. This is one of the only “meet & greet” opportunities that has Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations offered.

    • Mickey’s Philhar Magic — While it may not sound like this is 100% a princess activity, there is an adorable scene during this attraction where you can sing along in a whole new world and see dazzling whozits and whatzits galore!

    • Festival of Fantasy Parade is always filled with characters, fun, music, and dancing! A must see on your perfectly princess vacation to Walt Disney World!

    • Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire - a very regal affaire indeed! This is the show on stage in front of Cinderella Castle. There are often a number of show times each day, so be sure to grab a times guide in the park or check the My Disney Experience App for the current schedule.

    • Fireworks Spectacular - a perfect way to end the day for any prince or princess!

    • Coming soon (2024) Splash Mountain will be reimagined to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!

  • Hollywood Studios:

    • Frozen Sing-a-Long — a fun show that is presented by two new characters that steal the show! Of course all your favorites like Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf make an appearance (as does Elsa’s magic!)

    • You can also meet Olaf nearby but he is feeling more of a Summer vibe for these photos!

    • Beauty & The Beast Live on Stage

  • Animal Kingdom:

    • While there aren’t as many princess activities in this park, this is the only place where you can meet Pocahontas.

For the Princess of any age visiting Walt Disney World, switch out your glass slippers for running shoes and join the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. This royal running weekend in mid-late February is girl power and fun to the max! You can do a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, or the “Fairy Tale Challenge” which registers you for both the 10K and the Half and you get an extra Challenge medal upon completion. (And ladies, I’m all about the runDisney bling!) Grab some gal-pals and check out the Princess Weekend shopping to do in Disney Springs this year.
